A mother, a father, an aunt, a grandfather, a friend – five people commemorate the passing of a young boy, Darragh, in a unique way – by putting together a children’s play. ‘The Oak’ tells a family story of loss and forgiveness. A story for all.

This is a story set in a leafy suburb of Dublin 4 or 6 at the height of the Celtic Tiger. One couple is just managing to keep their head above water, the other couple is upwardly mobile. The upwardly mobile couple want to buy the other couple’s magnificent mantelpiece.
